Parallel Structures
Moving between deep in outer space to deep in the pocket, Parallel Structures subverts the flow of electronic dance music to the chordless quartet context, bringing a groove driven (albeit gritty at times) approach to modern creative improvised music.

Parallel Structures features Will Strickler on electric bass (and occasionally keyboard bass), Billy Wolfe on alto sax and clarinet, Jake Smith on tenor sax and Kyle Rowland on drums. Despite living in the sonic landscape between Ornette Coleman, The Meters and Skrillex, Parallel Structures has found themselves staying busy since their formation in winter 2023, having played downtown street corners, fancy jazz clubs, a Christmas tree lighting, a pop-up comedy club and much more around central Ohio. Their debut EP Parallel Structures was released fall 2024.
