“Get It (ft. Eric Rollin)”
The first single from Wave de Aché ’s upcoming album Triptych Continuum, “Get It” is one of the few (if not only) songs that feature an emcee rapping over an odd-meter 15/8 groove. Eric Rollin uses this off-kilter, pushing feel to full effect, delivering two verses of hard-hitting yet catchy lyrics. As Eric makes clear with the line “when it comes to warfare, homie I’m the mustard gas”, this isn’t your typical “jazzy chill hip-hop.”
Making minds dance since 2018, Waves de Aché blends Cuban and other Latin rhythms with Midwest American jazz, hip-hop and rock. While Waves de Ache has performed across the country as a six-piece band for the past three years, their new album “Triptych Continuum”, available May 14th, features a diverse list of guest artists; emcee Eric Rollin, singer Devin Copfer and guitarist Zakk Jones.
